The Study Revealing a Better Approach to a Healthier Weight
Category: Healthy Weight
Most of us are aware of our weight, and if you're dieting I'm sure you're doing it to reduce fat.
Not only does it feel better to fit into your favorite clothes, excess fat is associated with a number of medical issues, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, cancer, back pain, arthritis and orthopedic problems.
Unfortunately, most diets are either unsafe or will put you on a never ending YOYO cycle.
A lot of companies claim their programs will prevent YO-YO dieting with little to no clinical evidence.
The Federal Trade Commission has stated that weight-loss products are the number one category for consumer fraud. There are many unscrupulous companies that prey upon consumers with unproven and sometimes unsafe weight-loss products. They make ridiculous claims like "drop 20 pounds in 20 days without changing how you eat or getting off the couch."

What is the YO-YO?
At the beginning of your diet, the scale seems to be going in the right direction - you're losing weight!
What you don't realize is that you're not only losing body fat, but you're also losing muscle.
You don't want to lose muscle because it slows down your metabolism, making it harder to continue losing weight since you're not burning as many calories. This is why most dieters regain all of the weight they lost within one year.
Weight loss studies show that most diet programs lead to a muscle loss of about 25% of total weight loss. Muscle loss leads to a lower resting metabolic rate resulting in fat gain.
That is the dreaded YO-YO effect you want to avoid.
Thankfully there is clinical evidence behind a better approach found during a research study by Dr Wayne Westcott, Director of Exercise Science at Quincy College.
In our wellness webcast, The Weight Loss Dilemma, Dr. Daggy unpacks Dr. Westcott's research and shows you how you can implement a simple, safe, and healthy weight program in your daily life. If you missed the webcast, you can watch the replay here.
The key is clinical proof!
Unlike most diet programs where you lose both muscle and fat, the Shaklee 180 program was clinically proven to help you lose weight and retain lean muscle.
What is a clinical study?
Clinical studies involve human participants versus animals.
Why is it important?
They are a primary way that researchers find out if a new product is safe and effective in people. Without clinical proof, it's marketing hype and/or guesswork.

The clinical study proving Shaklee 180 works.
Shaklee designed their breakthrough management program to end the vicious cycle of yo-yo dieting.
In 2017 Dr Wayne Westcott, a leading nutrition researcher from Quincy College, did clinical studies of individuals on the Shaklee 180 program. And the weight loss results are remarkable - 14 lbs of fat lost, 4 lbs of muscle gained, and an impressive 5.75% body fat loss!
We had Dr Westcott speak for our Do Protein Shakes Make a Difference in Weight Loss webcast where he went into detail about this study.
